Community Health Institute & Exhibit Fair

Annual Community Health Institute

Pre-CHI Day: May 7, 2019
CHI: May 8-10, 2019
Sea Crest Beach Hotel, Falmouth

MassLeague's 2019 Community Health Institute (CHI) will feature leadership development and educational sessions geared to a broad range of health center staff, including executive, clinical, financial, technical, operations, human resources, and administrative. The CHI focuses on the programmatic, operational, and health policy and regulatory issues affecting community health centers and their patients. The institute's program is designed to share both the "how to" and "future challenges" for the industry. The conference attracts over 200 attendees and 50 exhibitors.

Call for Presentations:

We are currently accepting abstracts for presentations varying in length from 30 - 90 minutes. In our review of proposed presentations, MassLeague may ask you to join with others as part of a session.

Submitting an abstract for presentation, should it be accepted by MassLeague, indicates your commitment to develop and deliver content that is relevant, informative, and helpful for the community health center audience.

Timeline:

  • January 10: Abstracts due electronically to MassLeague
  • February 15: Final presentation selection and notification
  • March 15: Final speaker changes due
  • April 26: Final presentation materials submitted to MassLeague
  • May 8-10: 2019 CHI

Submission Guidelines:

Please submit abstracts to Deb Murphy (dmurphy@massleague.org) with the following information:

  • Provide all speaker names and a brief bio sketch for each, including affiliations, and contact information. Designate lead contact person.
  • Session length (30, 60, or 90 minutes).
  • Three learning objectives.
  • Session description, limited to 350 words.

We are specifically looking for presentations on the following topics:

  • ACO best practices
  • Joint Commissions
  • Leadership: change management, patient/employee satisfaction, service excellence
  • Preparing for a HRSA site visit
  • Workplace safety

Notification:

You will be notified on the status of your submission on or before February 15. Additional instructions will be sent once the proposal has been accepted. MassLeague reserves the right to combine sessions, to make decisions with respect to presenters, and to edit abstracts for promotional purposes.

If Accepted:

All presenters are responsible for their own travel and hotel arrangements. Travel expenses are not covered for registered presenters. Registration fees will be waived for the day of your presentation. All presenters must be listed on the submitted presentation proposal.

MassLeague must receive all speaker names with the abstract submission and a lead contact for the presentation should be designated. It is your responsibility to contact and confirm all speakers for the session. Any changes in speakers must be made by March 15. Upon acceptance, MassLeague conference staff may modify the session title and description for promotional purposes. All efforts will be made to confer with the lead presenter before publication.

The 2019 CHI is paperless so we will post handouts received by May 1 on our website unless requested otherwise. The handouts will be placed in a password protected area of the website and only registered attendees will be able to access them.

MassLeague will provide a screen, microphone, laptop, and LCD projector for each session. If you need any other accommodations, please notify us in advance.

If you have any questions, please contact Deb Murphy (dmurphy@massleague.org).
