2023 James W. Hunt, Jr. Community Health and Public Service Scholarship

$2,500 scholarship awarded to a student at the undergraduate level who displays a genuine interest in community and public health through either academic study or volunteer service. The student must be a candidate for a degree at an educational institution that maintains a regular faculty and curriculum and normally has a regularly enrolled body of students in attendance at the place where it carries on its educational activities. In addition, the student must be a Massachusetts resident or a Massachusetts community health center employee and can be enrolled at an educational institution outside of Massachusetts. Applicants must submit an application along with a short essay (no longer than two typed pages) expressing their interest in community health or public service.

2023 Ellen Hafer Scholarship for Community Health Administrative Leadership

$2,000 cash scholarship awarded to a student at the undergraduate or graduate level employed in a non-clinical position at a community health center or a primary care association (PCA) who has demonstrated administrative leadership within their organization aimed at improving the delivery of healthcare, reducing health disparities, or improving the health of one's community. Applicants must submit an application along with a short essay (no longer than two typed pages) detailing examples of their leadership within their organization as well as how the degree being obtained will assist in furthering their career within the health center movement.
