Fenway Health at forefront of U.S. study demonstrating effectiveness of new HIV
prevention tool

Efforts to reduce the transmission of HIV are happening all over the world - even in our own backyard. Recently, the Fenway Institute at Fenway Health was one of two participating U.S. sites that enrolled patients in an international study on a new strategy for slowing the global HIV epidemic. The study, reported in the New England Journal of Medicine, is the first evidence that a new HIV prevention method called pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) reduces HIV infection in people at increased risk of infection
