Congress Ensures Funding in Fiscal Year 2013 for Health Centers

3-22-13 Feature Story:

Massachusetts health center advocates, who traveled with their national counterparts for an annual policy conference in Washington DC this week, were met with good news upon their arrival: Congress approved a $300 million increase in their Fiscal Year 2013 funding. The funding will be used immediately to address the demand for access to primary care, expanding care to 1.5 million patients across the United States. Part of the funding will also be used to offset the impact of the federal budget sequester on existing health centers, ensuring that no current services will be cut this year."
